Dr. Vivi W. Hua, Psy.D.

Specialties:

I specialize in working with individuals who have achieved success in the traditional sense, yet may struggle with depression, anxiety, intimate relationships, cross-cultural adjustment, challenging upbringing, or connecting with their innermost desires. I see my clients as “a whole person” and am dedicated to providing the best quality services to each individual, family, or couple that comes to Vivid World Psychology.

Approach:

Taking a collaborative approach, I support my clients in their journey of healing and growth while providing much warmth, compassion, and humility. I have successfully helped adolescents and adults resolve issues that brought them to therapy and empowered them to find a meaningful life direction and build fulfilling relationships.

Background:

I received my Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) degree at Yeshiva University in Bronx, NY. My training and professional experiences have primarily taken place in medical, community, school, and foster care settings. It is with these diverse experiences and the pursuit of my personal growth, that I have developed a deep understanding of human nature, desires, and critical elements of what makes a professional truly connect with her clients without judgment.

Credentials:

I serve as a Clinical Supervisor for psychology doctoral students receiving training at the Student Counseling Services of The Graduate Center, The City University of New York (CUNY). As a former Fellow at the Leadership Institute of New York State Psychological Association (NYSPA), I have actively contributed my expertise and leadership skills to prominent professional associations both on the state and national levels. I have been invited to give talks, presentations, and workshops to mental health professionals, college and graduate students, companies, families with children of special needs, as well as social media platforms supporting minorities and 1st & 2nd generation immigrants. In addition to my clinical roles, I am the Founder of Dr. Vivi Coaching, a practice that helps international students successfully navigate the cross-cultural aspects of their school, professional, and personal life in the U.S. I am also the author of a book chapter – The Power of Being Different: Navigating Grad School as International Students.
